Please join us in welcoming The Devon Xtreme’s newest signing Defenceman Tyson Baschuk!
Baschuk comes to The Xtreme following his 2023-24 season with the U18 AAA Edmonton Jr Oilers, where through 31 regular season games he totalled 21 points. During The Oilers playoff run he added another point in 3 games played.
He was excited during his signing saying, “It’s an honour to be a part of the teams inaugural season, and it’s a big step for myself.”
Baschuk was a part of the skates this past weekend at the Leduc ID camp. When asked about how he felt the skates that played a part of went he stated “They went good, I played physical and it was competitive hockey.”
Branching out on his mention of his physicality on the ice Baschuk mentioned more of what he brings to the table saying “I’m a pretty heads up player, I’m good at predicting where players are gonna go and I’m shutdown on the blue line.”
Pictured above is Baschuk shaking hands with Head Coach and GM Kelly Buchberger following his signing. He spoke highly of Buchberger emphasizing how much there is to learn from such an experienced coach. Giving specific mention to his lengthy career in the NHL, as well his coaching experience at the highest levels.
