Lewis played his 2023-24 season with the Burnaby Winter Club U18 Prep team, where through 26 appearances he had a 12-12-0 record, and a .916SV% (save percentage)
He spoke over the phone about signing with the team saying, “I’m really excited to play for a new franchise, and play under such a great coaching staff. Just really excited to get started.”
Lewis spoke deeper into his excitement to play under The Xtreme’s coaching staff, making specific mention of Goalie Coach Ty Rimmer. He spoke highly of Rimmer saying, “Me being a goalie having him full time for my development is huge for me.”
He kept it simple when talking about what he brings between the pipes for Devon mentioning, “I’m a good skater, who loves to compete and stop the puck.”
Lewis also talked about other aspects that brought him to sign with The Xtreme saying stating, “It’s a fresh start, brand new team, brand new rink, just everything brand new and I’m ready to get going.”
Making the jump from U18 to Junior can be hard for some players, but Lewis seemed confident saying, “I think it’s gonna be a step up, but I’m gonna work hard over the summer and come in confident.”
Lewis is Devon’s second Goaltender signing following the announcement of Wilson Maxfield joining the team on June 10th.
