The Devon Xtreme are proud to announce the teams newest acquisition, forward Malcolm Baar.
Baar joins Devon following his 2023-24 season where he played with Kimball Union Academy, totaling 30 points in 26 games played.
He spoke over the phone about his recent move to the Xtreme saying, “It feels great, I chose to play for the Devon Xtreme because I spoke to coach Kelly (Head COach/GM Kelly Buchberger) and he seems like a great coach, as well I heard great things about him. Just the fact it’s a new team as well, there’s gonna be a lot of opportunity and we should be a good team.”
On the topic of making the move from the USA to Canada to play with the Xtreme Baar mentioned he is no stranger to moving around saying, “I’ve kind of been all over the map, I grew up in Ontario and played AAA there. I then moved down to Washington D.C. where I played AAA hockey as well. Then in the last few years I’ve played prep school hockey in New Hampshire, so I’ve kind of been moving around my whole life.”
When asked to describe what he brings as a player on the ice Baar said, “I’m a forward who plays all 200ft with, and without the puck. I use my skating and compete level to control possession, and make great plays when the puck is on my stick.”
Baar finished out the conversation by reiterating how excited he was to join up with the team, and get going this coming season.
